This is the big baobao tree at the Village of Hope in Burkina Faso.
This hole (part of a septic system at the Village of Hope) was dug by a single 60-year-old man using a shovel! The dirt was extremely hard...I was impressed.
This is in the Prime Minister's office in Burkina Faso. Yes, the person sitting next to Dave B is the Prime Minister! I shook his hand!
Kids at the deaf school in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. When we arrived, they flowed out of their classrooms and mobbed us, each one sticking out their hands for shaking. Remember they are deaf...and their first language is French. So, even if they could read lips, they couldn't read ours. This school was started by an American missionary years ago, and she started by teaching American sign language...which they still learn today.
